I grew up with a sister whose birthday is New Year’s Eve, so she, like many December/Jan babies, always felt gypped when it came to a special celebration in the midst of Christmas and NYE celebrations. Because of that she always insisted that her gifts not be wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper, which is totally fair.
Anyway, since I’ve been wrapping most of my gifts in craft paper late rather than traditional paper, it’s a lot easier lately to skew a gift towards a specific holiday/theme/celebration. So for her birthday this year, I was still able to use some winter themes without insulting her with the dreaded “Christmas” wrapping. I thought snowflakes would be perfect since she lives in Florida, where never gets snow, yet LOVES snow. The white polka dotted paper I got from Target this year was a perfect backdrop.
